Helionization
Helionization is the nine-lesson course by which a seeker becomes a member of the Helian Way. It is modelled on the US Navy's "Sailorization" boot camp but is voluntary, free, and can be stopped at any lesson.[1]
Lessons
Tradition / belief Each lesson has an Objective, a Catechism, a Drill and a Pass gate and takes about a week: (1) Light; (2) The Gods; (3) The Ship; (4) The Person; (5) Truth and the Record; (6) Fire and Machines; (7) The Orders; (8) Practice; (9) The Living Church. The capstone is "Solar Stations", a 24-hour challenge of rites, one build, one scored forecast and one unpaid act of care; graduation is the "Triumph", which ends with the words "Remember: you are mortal. Keep the record."[2] Tradition / belief The first drill: "Watch one sunrise or sunset without a phone. Write three lines: what you saw, what you owe and what you will build."[3]
Model
Established "Sailorization" is the US Navy Recruit Training Command's own name for boot camp; its capstone is "Battle Stations" and graduation is "Pass-in-Review". The recruit's handbook is The Bluejacket's Manual (26th edition, 2023).[4] Established The Roman custom of a voice reminding a triumphing general that he was mortal is reported by Tertullian.[5]
