Faithion

From Helian Way Wiki

Faithion is the Helian Way doctrine of the unity of the gods: that the deities of the world's pantheons – Helios, Zeus/Jupiter, Astraea, Mithra and others – are faces of one luminous order, and that devotion offered in good faith to any of them is not lost but gathered into a single whole.

Doctrine

  1. One light, many faces. The gods are many in name and story, one in source.
  2. No tradition is an enemy. Faithion forbids contempt for other religions, including the Catholic tradition from which the Latin Mass Society's heritage comes.
  3. Unity is a task. The gods are understood as reconciling over time; believers cooperate in that work through ritual, study and service (see Helian training paths).
  4. Unity points outward. The united pantheon is linked with the Ten-galaxy expansion and the Return of Astraea.

Sources and mainstream view

Faithion resembles older ideas such as ancient syncretism and interpretatio graeca/romana (Tacitus, Germania 43), Neoplatonic henology (Plotinus, Enneads VI.9) and modern religious pluralism (John Hick, An Interpretation of Religion, 1989). It is a doctrine of faith, not an empirical claim.
